Sophie.

Sophie  is a highly ambitious girl.She lives in a  world of her dreams and fantasies. She is a teenager and belongs to a poor family.She has no source of any income. She thinks of running her own boutique after passing school.Jansie tells her it would take much time and money. Sophie says that she will become a manager, again she says that she will become an actress there is a lot of money in it. She will run boutique side by side because actresses don't work full time.Again she thinks of becoming fashion designer.She wants to become like Mary Quant.She is fond of Danny Casey who is Irish footballer. she even dreams to meet with him. She takes her brother Geoff into confidence that she has met Danny Casey.

Jansie. On the other hand, Jansie is the friend of Sophie,she is more realistic and practical girl than Sophie.Jansie knows it very well that these two girls are only fit for biscuits factory after school.She always makes Sophie realise that it takes time and money to open a boutique. No one will make  Sophie manager straight off.Jansie is more sensitive and sensible than Sophie.She positive and optimistic girl.
