Q1-What were the results of the CT scan?
Answer:
The results of the C.T. scan were quite encouraging. 1700 digital X-ray images in cross-section were created. A gray head appeared on screen. Neck vertebrae were quite clear. The images of hand, ribcage and skull were equally bright. These revealed that nothing had gone seriously wrong with Tut’s body

Why did the tourists throng to see Tut’s tomb? What was their reaction?
Answer:
The tourists came to pay their respects to King Tut. They admired the murals and Tut’s gilded face on his mummy-shaped outer coffin. They read from the guidebooks in whisper, or stood silently, pondering over Tut’s untimely death, fearing, lest the
pharaoh’s curse befall those who disturbed him.

Answer: Howard Carter was the British archaeologist who in 1922 discovered Tut’s tomb after 80 years of unsuccessful search. He found three nested coffins of Tut. He finally reached
the most famous and beautiful mummy of the world.

Answer
Zahi Hawass was Secretary General of Egypt's Supreme Council of antiquities. He believed that Tut's mummy was in bad condition because of Carter's mishandling. He arranged the first ever CT scan of Tut's mummy for an accurate forensic reconstruction.

Ans.Tut was a boy king of Egypt. He belonged to a very powerful dynasty which ruled for centuries over Egypt. Young Tutankhaten changed his name to Tutankhamun but he was popularly known as Tut. He ruled over his kingdom for about nine years.His father or grandfather, Amenhotep III, was a very powerful Pharaoh ruler over a period of 40 years.

Answer:
Tutankhamun means “living image of Amun”. He was a major god in ancient Egypt. King Amenhotep IV who changed his name to Akhenaten smashed the images of Amun and
got his temples closed. Tut oversaw a restoration of the old ways. He changed his name to express his belief in Amun.

amulets, a ceremonial apron, sandals, sheaths for his fingers and toes. In those times,the royals believed in the idea of taking their wealth with them. Tut was adorned with all such riches for his journey after life. It also gives the idea of the Egyptian belief in
resurrection.

2-MRI- MRI is the short form of magnetic resonance imaging. It is a diagnostic tool.
3-Tomography- It refers to taking pictures of various sections of a human body in a three-dimensional view.
4-Autopsy- It refers to the post-mortem examination.
5-Dialysis- It is the process of filtration of bloodstream usually during kidney failure.
6-ECG- The electrocardiogram is a diagnostic tool that measures and records the electrical activity of the heart in exquisite detail.
7-Post mortem- It refers to the medical examination and dissection of a dead body to determine the cause of death
8-Angiography- Angiography is the examination of the blood vessels using x-rays and injecting of a radiopaque substance.
9-Biopsy- The removal and examination of a sample of tissue from a living body for diagnostic purposes is known as biopsy.
ANNOTATIONS
1-Forensic reconstruction-
It refers to the process of creating a face on the skull and see how the owner of the skull looked like.
2-ghostly dust devils-
It points out to the devilish or frightful movement of the dusty winds. It reflects the anger of the winds for disturbing the king from his resting place.
3-Desert sky- IT refers to the dusty sky of the desert. The barren sky spread over the vast desert region portrays a sad and dry picture.
4-stunning artefacts- Items found in the tomb were extremely beautiful. Usage of both the words together explains the ‘eternal brilliance’ of the objects.
5-Funerary treasures- Reference is to the fact that king was buried with numerous things which were no less than treasures as most of the items were made of pure gold.
6- Scientific detachment- it refers to an indifference towards science.
7-Dark-bellied clouds- it refers to the dark clouds containing rain.
8-Casket grey- the words point out to the stars being covered by the ‘dark-bellied
clouds’, the way jewels are kept in a casket (a jewel box).
9-Eternal brilliance- eternal refers to something that is timeless. Thus, eternal brilliance
refers to timeless lustre and shine of the jewels and valuables of the king.
10-Ritual resins- resins are used as a customary duty in the process of burying a body.
11-Virtual body- a body created through electronic images or CT scan. It resembles a real
body and provides a very clear view.
