Q1.Character Sketch of PROSPERO

And. PROSPERO- Prospero is highly qualified and well cultured protagonist and the hero of the play. " TEMPEST" composed by an eminent sonneteer and playwright William Shakespeare.The whole story revolves around him.He is a powerful magician and well known creation of Shakespeare.He is multi talented and having intellectual mind.He is the former Duke of Milan.He is the father of Miranda and elder brother of Antonio.Antonio siezed his 'Title and property' With the help of Alonso the King of Naples, exiled him and his daughter before 12 years.

POWERFUL MAGICIAN.. 

Prospero found shelter on this island.Prospero is a powerful magician, with the help of magic he ruled over the island and spirit.He has freed Ariel from Sycorax, the Witch.Prospero uses Caliban as his slave. He asks Ariel to create terrible storm in ocean.He appears very cruel and tyrant in the beginning.He wants to take revenge from his enemies.He has ability to change the weather through magic.He brings all his enemies under his power.He controls every event in the play.

AS A FATHER.. Prospero helps Ferdinand to reach Miranda.He got married Miranda and Ferdinand. He has given his best wishes and best blessings to couple.At the last scene Prospero has forgiven everybody.He asked Antonio to return his kingdom.Once again he became the Duke of Milan.

He is courageous, adventurous and fearless 

Q2.Character sketch of MIRANDA

Ans.MIRANDA- Miranda is the female protagonist and the heroine of the play"The TEMPEST"composed by an eminent sonneteer and playwright William Shakespeare.She is young, charming and noble lady.She is loving daughter of PROSPERO and faithful wife of Ferdinand. She is innocent young girl of sixteen.  She well cultured lady.She is rightful princess of Milan.She is grown up on island.She is impressed by Ferdinand and his adventurous story.She falls in his love.she flirts with him, and marries.She is innocent,pure and virtuous lady.

LOVING DAUGHTER.Miranda is a loving daughter of Prospero.She is just fifteen years old.She knows nothing about the world, except her father.He father teaches her how to talk and how to walk.It was Prospero who plan them to get together.Prospero hopes that she will be fallen in love with Ferdinand. When she Saw Ferdinand,she fall in his love and promise to marry with him.

       At last Miranda marries with Ferdinand. Prospero has given his best wishes and best blessings to couple.At the last scene Prospero has forgiven everybody.He asked Antonio to return his kingdom.Once again he became the Duke of Milan.

Q3 Character sketch of Ferdinand.

Ans. FERDINAND.Ferdinand is handsome, young and loving son of Alonso.He is rightful prince of Naples and nephew of Sabastian. He is lost during shipwreck.It was Ariel who brought him on the safe Island.Where Miranda lives.Miranda falls in his love for the first sight.Ferdinand had never seen such beautiful thing.He asks her Name and age.He thinks that she is goddess of that Island.She says that she is not goddess,she is only simple maiden.She was going to tell more about herself but Prospero stops her.

OBEDIENT.Ferdinand is very obedient boy.  Prospero asked him to work for him.He ask him to pile up woods if he wants to marry with Miranda.He is ready to sacrifice everything for Miranda.He loves Miranda more than anything in the World. He tells Miranda that he is the prince of Naples and she would be the princess of Naples.He promise to marry with Miranda.

Prospero was watching everything.he was very happy that Ferdinand and Miranda were flirting with eachother.He arranges their marriage.

Prospero has given his best wishes and best blessings to couple.At the last scene Prospero has forgiven and forgot everybody.He asked Antonio to return his kingdom.Once again he became the Duke of Milan.

Q4- Character sketch of ARIEL

Ans.ARIEL. Ariel is second powerful magician in play  "THE TEMPEST" composed by an eminent sonneteer and playwright William Shakespeare.Ariel is the head of all spiris.Prospero rescues him from the tree in which he was imprisoned by Sycorax the witch, mother of Caliban.In return Ariel promised to serve his master for a year.

MAGIC POWER: Ariel uses his magic power to help his master.He served his master more than 12 years.He created a terrible storm in the sea.He destroyed the ship into two parts. It was Ariel who brings all the three traitor (Antonio,Alonso and Sebastian) under his master's power.

He can change his appearance in any shape with magic power.

OBEDIENT SERVANT.

Ariel is very obedient and faithful servant of his master.He gives all reports of enemies to his master.

He arranges a stage for Miranda and Ferdinand to meet eachother.He helps them to marry.

He requested his master to free him from slavery.He has sympathy for human beings.He requested his master to free Caliban and enemies.

He requested his master to forgive and forget all his enemies.

Q5- Character sketch of CALIBAN

Ans. CALIBAN- Caliban is the second villain of the play The TEMPEST composed by an eminent sonneteer and playwright William Shakespeare. Caliban is the real ruler of island.He is the son of witch Sycorax.He is a monster. He is half man and half animal. He has different look.His eyes are just like lizard.His mother worshipped devil. His mother told him that he is the owner of island.

If Prospero had not come there and steal his mother's magic books. Prospero freed her slaves spirits and made Caliban his slave..He is both villain and victim. One day Caliban tried to rape Miranda and wants to make Miranda his queen,in anger Prospero enslaved him and torture him and put him into a stone cave.

     In the whole story, Caliban is mischievous and rebellious.he can write poetry and feelings of beauty.

He provokes Stephano to steal magic books of Prospero.He excited Stephano to murder Prospero,in return  Caliban promised to serve him  as a servant on the island. He always abuses his master and in return get punishment.

Antonio

Prospero's brother. Antonio once plotted to overthrow Prospero and later encourages Sebastian to do the same to Alonso. He is a power-hungry and conniving character, and never shows remorse for his cruel schemes
