.Clause Vs Phrases
Clause- A Clause is a part of the sentences that contains a subject and a verb.It makes sense on its own.In simple it has one subject and one predicate.
A clause can be divided into two parts
1-Independent/ Main Clause-An independent Clause is a simple sentence.It makes sense on its own..
I am feeling well.
They have done the job.
Tom likes the meat.
He must stop laughing
2-Dependent/Subordinate Clause-
A dependent clause can not stand on its own.It needs independent Clause to complete a sentence.
begins with although/since/if/when/because etc.
Although she is hungry.
Whenever they decide.
If you come.
Because she is unwell.
2- Phrase- A phrase is a small group of words that adds meaning to a sentence.A phrase is not a sentence itself because it has no complete sense.It is without verb and subject used as a simple part of speech.
For Eg 1-after a very long walk.(P.P)
2-much too quickly to see closely

3-very pretty ( adjective phrase)
4-best friend( Noun phrase)
5-really slowly ( Adverb phrase)
