Q1 Character sketch of HAMLET.

 PRINCE HAMLET- Hamlet is highly qualified and well cultured protagonist and the hero of the play" Hamlet" composed by an eminent sonneteer and playwright William Shakespeare.

He is well experienced and well known creation of Shakespeare.He is multitalented and having intellectual mind.He is handsome prince of Denmark.He is courageous, adventurous and fearless.Hamlet is meloncholy, bitter and full of cynical nature.He returns from the University of Wittenberg in Germany to attend father's funeral ceremony and mother's remarriage function.

But the ghost of his father late Hamlet reveals the secrets of his death.The ghost tells that his Uncle Claudius poured poison into his ear while sleeping in garden.

.He spreads the news that king died due to snake bite.

Hamlet decided to take revenge with his uncle Claudius.He is the best friend of Horatio. Horatio helps prince Hamlet time to time.In anger, he kills Polonius who was following him.He is in love with Ophelia.Hamlet proposes her many times to marry but she rejected his proposal. When Hamlet kills her father,she suicides in river.Hamlet starts behaving like a mad to find out the secret of his father's death.

Hamlet is indecisive and hesitant.He doesn't kill Claudius because his uncle was saying prayers.During prayers if he would die,he would go to heaven. At last he was wounded by poisoned sword of Laertes.Before his death ,He kills Laertes and his uncle Claudius.Then he gets his tragic end.Thus he has taken revenge from his uncle.

Q2.Character Sketch of OPHELIA.

Ans.OPHELIA. Ophelia is highly isqualified and well cultured protagonist and the female heroine of the play" Hamlet" composed by an eminent sonneteer and playwright William Shakespeare.She is still young and noble lady of Denmark.

She is well experienced and well known creation of Shakespeare.She is multitalented and having intellectual mind.She is charming and loving daughter of Polonius and sister of Laertes of Denmark.She is young and courageous,She is beloved of Prince HAMLET. Ophelia goes mad because firstly her father and her brother ask her to avoid Hamlet and secondly her lover Hamlet has murdered her father.Ophelia deeply loved her father. Hamlet proposes her several times to marry but she rejects her love.She is virtuous,pure, kind hearted and innocent lady.She is a graceful Beauty and loyal to her love.She is ready to sacrifice everything for her love.

She dies in a very young age.She fell into river in grief and madness while singing and plucking the flowers.

 At last we can say that Ophelia is stronger than Hamlet.She is loving to her father as well as her lover.She could not tolerate the separation of her father and Hamlet that's why she suicides in very young age.

Q3 Character sketch of King Claudius.

Ans.. CLAUDIUS-Claudius is the notorious antagonist and villain of the tragic play "HAMLET" composed by an eminent sonneteer and playwright William Shakespeare. He is  lustful, selfish, greedy and cunning villain. He hopes to become the King of Denmark.He is much experience.He loves Gertrude more  than anything in the world,and makes a device to murder his brother Hamlet.One day,he poured poison into Hamlet's ear while sleeping in the garden.He spreads the news that king died due to snake bite. He marries with Gertrude.He murders his brother for his crown and for his beautiful queen.

He made a plan to send Hamlet to England to kill him.He sent a letter to the Duke of England to kill Hamlet after reaching.

          He pretends to be loving stepfather of Hamlet.But he doesn't like Hamlet.He is second husband of jiGertrude,uncle of Hamlet, later he becomes stepfather of Hamlet.He provokes Laertes against Hamlet.

Claudius tells Laertes that Hamlet has murdered his father,"Polonius" mercilessly without any reason.

He poisons his sword so that he can kill Hamlet.At the last scene,he is responsible to kill Hamlet, Laertes and Gertrude.He mixes poison into the cup.He didn't tell Gertrude that the cup was full of poison.He didn't stop her to drink poison and she died.

At we can say that King Claudius is the combination of greatness and weakness. Claudius is a good king,he leads his country wisely,he is not tyrant.He is intelligent and well spoken king.He is sixty three years old.On the other hand He is lustful,greedy and selfish king

He killed his real brother for crown and his beautiful queen Gertrude.

Q4Character sketch of "Gertrude"

Ans. Queen Gertrude is highly qualified and well cultured protagonist and the female heroine of the play" Hamlet" composed by an eminent sonneteer and playwright William Shakespeare.She is still middle aged and noble lady of Denmark.

She is well experienced and well known creation of Shakespeare.She is multitalented and having intellectual mind.She is loving mother of Hamlet and second wife of Claudius. She is the failure character because she doesn't show any emotions and feelings for her dead husband and she rushes to re marry with Claudius.

  There are several questions arise regarding Queen Gertrude.First one is, If she knows that her husband is a criminal,whether she helps Claudius to murder her husband,thirdly why did she re marry very soon with Claudius? Whether, she has deviced to murder her husband.

    But the ghost of King Hamlet calls her, the most virtuous and innocent queen. The ghost only blames Claudius who murdered him for his crown and for his beautiful queen Gertrude. On the other hand Ghost declares that Gertrude is also guilty for marrying very soon.She is not good judge of man.as  she marries Claudius right after the death of her husband.she never declares any kind of emotions and feelings for Claudius.He mixes poison into the cup.He didn't tell Gertrude that the cup was full of poison.He didn't stop her to drink poison and she died.

Q5 CHARACTER SKETCH OF "LAERTES".

Ans.LAERTES-

Laertes is highly qualified and well cultured Character of the play            " Hamlet" composed by an eminent sonneteer and playwright William Shakespeare.He is a minor character but plays major role in the play.Laertes is the son of Polonius and elder brother of Ophelia.He returns to Denmark to protect his sister Ophelia and avenge the death of his father.He is young, honourable and nobleman.He asks Ophelia to avoid prince Hamlet.As Ophelia fell in love with Hamlet and wants to marry with him.Claudius provokes Laertes against Hamlet that Hamlet has killed his father mercilessly.

He challenges Hamlet to fight.He kills Hamlet with his poisoned sword.He himself died with the same poisoned sword.

At last we can say that Laertes

is multitalented and having intellectual mind..He is courageous, adventurous and fearless.He challenges Hamlet to fight.He kills Hamlet with his poisoned sword.He himself died with the same poisoned sword.
